Support Candidates First
For most contributions, 90% supports direct candidate grant funding. Grants are simplified into four practical levels so donors can see the impact clearly. Your gift of $500 to $500k can either fund one candidate fully for a given calendar year, or be applied to a campaign pool fundraiser. Donations of under $500 are accepted but cannot be allocated to a specific candidate.
Support Candidates Directly
For your convenience, we offer a wide range of payment methods including Cash, Cashier's Check, USPS Money Orders, ACH/Wire transfer, Credit Card, Debit Card, Wise, Zelle, Chime, Crypto, Venmo, Payoneer, Varo, CashApp, direct bank deposits, and electronic checks.

Donation Notes
All donations are simplified to support 1 person: with a direct grant $500, $5,000, $50,000, or $500,000. Meaning, if you donate $50 or $500 using the links, these funds go directly to a candidate to support that candidate. Funds are only pooled to a general fund if a candidate does not reach the stated campaign goal. If you wish to donate to support our platform directly rather than a specific candidate please specify as an unrestricted gift and do not select a specific candidate. Amounts under $500 are always directed to a general fund.
Campaigns are "all or nothing" meaning if a specific candidate is seeking $5000 and the 90-day campaign expires with only $2500 raised - the campaign is unsuccessful and candidate receives $0. However, 5 other candidates for $500 actively on the platform are immediately funded. The platform is designed for a quick and easy $500 for entry level candidates and students who have yet to build strong party affiliations.
Candidates may only use TPP platform once per calendar year, and each campaign is always 90 days. Candidates are encouraged to use both a primary fundraising platform and the RunPurple platform as a secondary platform. TPP has a stated bias towards first-time candidates and those seeking smaller dollar amounts, in smaller markets - meaning if "your" candidate does not reach a fundraising objective, know that a deserving fully verified candidate will make use of your funds.
The Philanthropist Party, RunPurple™, and Purple Dot™ Platform itself need your support. If you wish to support a specific candidate, use the candidate page, for options to support TPP directly, see additional below. For your convenience, we offer a wide range of payment methods including Cash, Cashier's Check, USPS Money Orders, ACH/Wire transfer, Credit Card, Debit Card, Wise, Zelle, Chime, Crypto, Venmo, Payoneer, Varo, CashApp, direct bank deposits, and electronic checks. Support the Platform
TPP is not specific to American politics, but is rooted in American-spirit via the warning from George Washington to be cautious of the divisive and negative “effects of the spirit of party”. We invite donors to directly support The Philanthropist Party, RunPurple™, and Purple Dot™ movement with direct operating support for technology, review, outreach, data, media, and volunteer coordination. If you want your gift to support the platform directly, please mark it as an unrestricted gift and do not select a specific candidate.

Additional Ways to Support TPP Directly
Volunteer. Join Us.
We are a volunteer-based group and count on valued volunteers to power all operations. All meetings are remote, on Zoom, always Tuesday nights, 8–9pm EST. Volunteers commit 100 hours over a 6 month period.
Join a Board or Committee
Board Members serve a 3 year term and have a financial requirement to support and steer the organization with voting rights. Board Members meet quarterly by Zoom. Leadership Committee roles are similar, without a capital contribution requirement.
Make a Planned Gift, or Major Gift
Planned Giving is a way to leave a lasting legacy. Major Gift Decisions, Inc. supports Major Gifts and Planning Philanthropic Giving. Commercial Real Estate is an immediate need for our TPP HQ.
Support a Sponsor — Meet Eric
If you want to support philanthropist.run and RunPurple but have limited funds, visiting a few sponsors costs you nothing but 30 minutes of your time.
TPP Direct Action Grassroots Kits
Grassroots kits are physical kits of TPP marketing collateral and media-buys sent to a community organizer, or purchased by a community organizer. This does not need to be you, but does require a physical mailing address (USA Only). If you wish to sponsor a grassroots kit but you do not have a community organizer in mind, contact us and we will match with someone in the TPP network.
All kits contain t-shirts, pens, purple dot stickers, banners, purple dot buttons, and other collateral. The TPP campaign collateral is not specific to any one candidate, but may be placed near a candidate who might have other self-paid collateral running in parallel with the more generic “RunPurple” campaign.
TPP does not directly sponsor candidates for any specific election cycle or campaign.
All Print Collateral is prepared according to guidelines: www.philanthropist.run/mediakit.html
All Digital Collateral is approved by the donor prior to purchase, similar to: www.philanthropist.run/mediakit.html

Global giving totals roughly $2.3 trillion per year, USA is about $600 Billion, however most, 75% or more originates from the "non-wealthy" who donate or screen investments according to personal values (Faith, Tobacco, Alcohol, Abortion, Guns, etc.).
- August 1999
With ideas from philanthropic databases Eric Melin writes a 85-page business plan for ValueSystem.com (www.ericmelin.com/cagbusinessplan.pdf) in the height of the dot-com boom outlining many of the ideas for philanthropist.org and philanthropist.run later to be known as Values-Based Investing, Socially Responsible Investing, Triple Bottom Line Investing, Green Investing, ESG, etc. A software product was developed allowing investor to screen stock investments according to personal values 20 years before social investing became mainstream.
